It gives me great pleasure to let you all know that my book, A Piece of Cake has taken out the third place for the best Pastry book in the world at the Gourmand World Cookbook award held last night in Yantai, China. How Cool is that!! Not a bad spot for my first ever cookbook running against pastry books from all over the world, including france the home of pastries. The Gourmand Cook Book Awards are considered the Oscars of the Book World and I have been fortunate to be able to come to China to attend to represent my country of Birth the land of the long white cloud, Aotearoa, New Zealand. As you all probably know if you have been following my blog for a while, my book took out the Best Pastry Cookbook in New Zealand, which allowed me the great honour to be able to come to the awards.
